We're celebrating International Day of Persons with Disabilities (December 3),  an international observance promoted by the United Nations since 1992. It has been observed with varying degrees of success around the planet. The observance of the Day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. It also seeks to increase awareness of gains to be derived from the integration of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.

At Impellam, we realise the power of work to change businesses, change lives and change futures. We’re committed to driving inclusion - both for our customers and our colleagues.

Our work covers a number of initiatives:

  • Implementing equitable processes throughout the candidate experience—from tailored job applications to providing access and flexible interview formats.
  • Being named leaders in the Disability Equality Index® (through Disability:IN), the leading benchmark for disability inclusion.
  • In the UK, we’re a Disability Confident organisation, an accreditation which recognises our commitment to hiring and retaining people with disabilities.
  • Enhancing our website accessibility with ReciteMe, allowing visitors to personalise their experience with accessibility and language tools.
  • Guidant Global is a Gold partner and Lorien a Pioneer for RIDI (Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative)
  • We sponsor disability inclusive events, including Guidant Global who are the headline sponsor of Sitting Bucks Volleyball Club in the UK
  • Our IMAble, our employee-led group hosting impactful events, that this year includes a guest speaker sharing their experiences living with a disability.
